As an early birthday present, my mom gave me a basket full of travel goodies, the day before we left for a band trip to New York.
The next day was my birthday (February 28) and that was the day we were to leave.
So it was a very nice birthday.
This is the first thing I see when I woke up after the night flight.
Central Park was one of my favorite parts of the trip :D
Rockefeller Center was nice too. This is still my phone's wallpaper
The next morning there was a rehearsal exchange with the other bands who were also there. They were held in the hotel's ballroom (another favorite place of mine during the trip). It was special meeting and playing with kids from Arizona
and Israel!
Then we saw The Lion King
Then the next day we went on a tour of Manhattan
Then that evening we had a dinner/dance cruise for just the band kids and that was very very fun
The next day was the big day, although every day was a big day, heh. Well we played at Carnegie Hall and that was so nice, especially to say that I was able to play in both performances, one with our symphonic band and the other with Festival Winds. The sound and concert hall and everything was so so pretty
The last day felt pretty sad because I didn't feel ready to go back home. But I was happy to visit Central Park one last time (Over the trip it was a total of 3 times visiting that park. I discovered I really like tire swings, especially with city lights on at night as I'm spinning)

I'm still learning new things on my camera and today I ended up taking about 40 pictures of this one skein while experimenting with different settings on the camera. This was the only acceptable one haha

The song Paper Gown by Midlake reminds me of a library I've never been to. It's just a made-up, big library. I can see it inside my head; it's nice to look at.
My favorite number is 11. If the word "eleven" wasn't already a number, it would make a nice first or middle name.
I received a purse from a family-friend from Chicago, where it seems to be crocheted with many of those things from soda cans.
I always keep a pile of cut-up scratch paper in my desk, to write anything that comes to mind. Once I use one side, I flip it around and put it back in the pile to use again. I took out this one, and I don't remember where this quote came from, or when I wrote it! but it is a funny one.

We had another group project in my world history class, in which each group had to create a working invention or innovation (as our most recent unit was the Industrial Revolution) and advertise for it. My group created the Push Pin Pocket, by our fake company, Textiles + Such. (Can you tell I came up with the company name?) Our slogan is "Push It Pin It Stick It". It's the universal pocket that goes anywhere. It comes in a variety of prints, fabrics, designs, sizes, and attachments, as the variety in attachments is what makes these pockets go anywhere. 
I was in charge of making the pockets. You can imagine how fun it was shopping for the material at Jo~Ann. I really like that place.
I don't own a sewing machine, let alone know how to use one, but that was okay because they turned out well by hand, if I may say so myself.
Each pocket took about 30-40 minutes to make. Music passed the time quickly.
I'd say this one was my favorite. This pocket featured the magnet attachment
and this one featured the classic pin attachment.
Our presentation and infomercial turned out really well, and the class seemed to enjoy it. Our group even tied with another in receiving most votes from the class as the best invention/presentation, so we get "grade recovery" as Mr. Baron calls it. (Extra credit). Here's our final product:
I made this cute little gift card holder for the Secret Santa exchange at the clarinet section Christmas party! I didn't use a pattern on this one. (So that makes me feel cool).
